What is the Gilpin School of Motoring?

The Gilpin School of Motoring is a driving school based in Wallingford. As an experienced Driving Instructor I, Mike Gilpin, have been helping students pass their driving tests for over 10 years. I provide driving lessons to learner drivers all over Oxfordshire, including: Wallingford, Didcot, Oxford and Abingdon.

The Car

I use one of the best vehicles for learning to drive in - the brand new 5-door Vauxhall Corsa. It makes
learning not only an easier and more relaxed experience but an enjoyable one too.

My Credentials
With ten years of driving instruction experience, including four years of training with the British School of Motoring, I am a Member of the Driving Instruction Association, and also holder of the Grade 5 ADI (Approved Driving Instructor) Diamond Special Advanced Licence, ensuring you get the best driving tuition possible.

Need help with the driving test theory? No problem. I can help you with the theory.
If you'd like to hurry things along, I operate a semi-intensive course over a four-week period, culminating in the driving test itself.

Pass Plus Scheme
Once you've passed your driving test, you can develop your driving skills as well as save money on insurance by joining the Pass Plus Scheme. Pass Plus enables you to develop your driving skills by giving you six lessons with more advanced driving techniques. Not only will you increase and develop your driving skills, but you can also save money because many insurance companies now offer excellent discounts for Pass Plus Holders.

The six Pass Plus courses cover the following skills:

Driving in town
Driving in all types of weather
Driving on rural roads
Driving at night
Driving on dual-carriageways
Driving on motorways

Pass Plus courses are £25 per hour, usually booked as three 2-hour sessions, although they can be taken one hour at a time.Check out the links below for even more information on Pass Plus and some real-life case studies of drivers who have saved money on insurance as well as developed their driving abilities.

Rates

My rates for driving lessons are extremely competitive at £24 per hour.

If you'd like to book longer times or several driving lessons at a time, I can offer discounted prices:

£35 for 1 1/2 hour driving lesson
£45 for 2 hour driving lesson
£220 for ten one hour driving lessons booked in advance

I also offer a 10% discount on your next driving lesson if you refer someone else to us.
